Home Missions Report Before Southern Presbyterian Assembly
At Montreat North Carolina on May 18 the General Assembly heard the executive committee on home missions report. Funds for the year reached 523401, down 20030 from prior period, with a debt of 35600 due to larger building costs and crises. The committee aids Mexicans Syrians Chinese Jews Indians Caucasians and Negroes. Thirty eight ordained Negro ministers helped fifty eight churches and missions with 2350 members and a constituency of 5000. The year included 298 mountain workers conducting 104 Sabbath services.

ATLANTA May 17 Information from the department of agriculture reports that of 1,195 banded ducks in Salt Lake Valley Utah by Alexander Weitiore assistant biologist 185 were retaken. Many remain in ponds kept open by inflow of spring water while others migrate south to the Gulf Coast. The birds migrate to interior valleys of California and along the Great Plains toward Texas with teal and spoonbills wintering in California valleys.
