Soviet Writer Describes POW Camp Life in Vietnam

Australian-born journalist Wilfred Burchette, based in Moscow, writes for Communist and Western outlets. He spent five months in South Vietnam with Viet Cong forces and met four American POWs, including Sgt. Isaac Camacho of El Paso Texas and Sgt. George Smith whose mother lives in Chester West Virginia. The prisoners were captured during a Special Forces training camp overrun on the night of November 23 24 1963 near Chattanooga Tennessee.
