Rocky Mountain Bighorns Learn Harsh Lesson In Transplant
COLORADO SPRINGS Colorado May 7 4 The state game and fish department traps bighorns near here to move 17 groups from the Tarryal herd into new Rocky Mountain herds. A drop gate and wire trap send sheep into a canyon dead end then into a truck. About 4,500 to 5,000 bighorns remain in the state and officials hope transplanting may allow a hunting season within a decade.
