Safer Driving Urged to Cut Traffic Toll Nationwide
Public sentiment calls for definite action to reduce death injuries and property damage from traffic accidents. Sponsors of the campaign urge motor vehicle owners and operators to recognize personal responsibility behind the wheel for safer streets and highways.
New Daily Safety Feature Endorsed By Carolinas Highway Groups
A new daily feature in the Enterprise, approved by state and county highway safety committees and the Carolina Motor Club, will be carried by three score Carolinas newspapers to reduce traffic tolls. In 1933 North Carolina reported 853 traffic deaths and South Carolina 276 with over 6,000 serious injuries. O Arthur Kirkman of High Point chairs the Guilford county safety group and will implement plans with local focus, urging cautious crossing and signals at corners.
