In Birmingham on May 5 AP reports disorders erupted at two iron ore mines. Details are incomplete but the incidents indicate unrest at the sites. Local officials and company representatives were expected to assess the situation and restore order.
Raleigh May 5 The State utilities commission said at the request of the North Carolina factory association a May 16 hearing on the petition for lower power rates has been indefinitely postponed.
The Post Office Department today called for bids on a southern airmail route from Charleston, Washington to Fort Worth, Texas. The line would connect major cities and advance mail service in the region.
