Contract Ridge safety plays alter bridge deal notes
In the deal, the declarer missed two distinct safety chances after a 2C to 2NT sequence. The analysis shows avoiding the first club trick could cut the opponents’ communication and thwart a club run, while a diamond defense could also preserve declarer’s options. An unrelated line notes oil well depths rising from 2900 to 3500 feet over 20 years.
