James Cottas filed suit in High Point municipal court against A V Campbell and EB L Welch trading as Jolly Cab alleging injuries from being struck at North Main and English Street on March 18 1986. He says he was crossing on a green light about 6:30 PM when the cab driver did not illuminate lights and he suffered back and leg injuries and other bruises. He claims to have spent days in hospital and incurred medical bills and seeks $10000.

Lions Club Treasure Hunt Ends With Picnic And Magic Show
High Point Lions Club members and partners took part in a chained treasure hunt starting at the Elwood hotel and ending at Mr. and Mrs. George J Johnson on Greensboro road. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Dodamead found the treasure before a magic exhibition by A Coke Cecil followed by bingo. Roy Champion led the hunt and Dr. M L Slate oversaw the supper at the Johnson home.
