President Signs Defense Money Bill for Vietnam War Aid
The White House said President Johnson signed a 1966 defense bill Friday night funding $12.3 billion for the Defense Department and $1.14 billion for economic aid. Defense funds buy hardware, build projects and speed R and D. Economic aid covers $275 million for Vietnam, plus amounts for the Dominican Republic Laos Thailand and emergencies.
