Grover C. Quinn twenty five of 1201 Tucker street Greensboro died in a head on collision on the Denton highway two miles south of Thomasville. He died at a Thomasville hospital after the crash involving a state owned truck and a two ton Ford loaded with plywood and cotton. Goins twenty one of Norwood was driving the other truck and sustained only minor bruises. Quinn was a protector for the Wildlife Resources commission. Goins was detained at the Thomasville city hall for investigation. The body will lie at Green Funeral home until relatives arrange funeral.

Ray Cockrell Executed For Wife's Murder
Ray Cockrell 43 a Nash County sharecropper was executed in the state gas chamber for the murder of his wife Eva Batts. He faced 23 witnesses as the gas was turned on at 10 a m and died 14 minutes later. He leaves six children aged two to 18.
