Congress Skeptical Of Wage and Price Controls

Congress shows doubt about extending wage and price controls as they near expiration in six weeks. Rep. Widnall and Rep. Barrett urge lifting or limiting controls, arguing inflation worsens and construction needs stimulus. The Nixon plan would keep some controls on health and construction while phasing out others and retooling the Cost of Living Council. House views remain unsettled with members uncertain about the outcome.
