Thomasville Council Says No Annexation Plans For Hasty Area
Thomasville officials told Hasty residents there are no annexation plans for the area north of the city in the foreseeable future. The council agreed to affidavit support for Hasty Water Corp.’s rural water project and allowed access across Thomasville and Lexington property near the reservoir. Duke Power may buy a decommissioned power line for 5000 dollars to serve a planned Hasty pumping station as the city weighs a CATV system. Additional actions included allocating funds for county election board costs, denying curb and gutter work for a housing project, and appointing new Recreation Commission and Zoning Board members.
