Jack Swift Signs Pact With Hi-Toms

veteran righthander Jack Swift has signed with the High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms for the 1958 Carolina League season. Hi-Toms general manager Clay Dennis said Swift, 33, is the fifth veteran to ink a pact for 1958 with the Phillies farm club. Swift, from Thomasville, won 17 games last season with Winston Salem and once pitched 30 wins in 1953 for Marion in the Tar Heel League. He reports good arm health after last fall’s flu and rest.
