High Pointer In Paris Sees Little Chance for Peace Talks

Mrs. Neal Austin of High Point returned from a week in Paris with the Citizens Conference on Ending the War in Indochina reporting that North Vietnamese officials demand immediate American withdrawal before negotiations can begin. The Americans seek an international cease fire first, then a peace conference, while North Vietnam favors a neutral Saigon government and talks with others. The group, from 41 states and ages 25 to 80, urged Nixon to set a date for total U.S. withdrawal and end support for Thieu, calling current policy a prolongation of the war.
