Book Tells of City's Spirit and Builders of High Point
J J Farriss, first High Point Chamber of Commerce president, embodied the city spirit noted by Frank J Sizemore in his 1947 volume The Building and Builders of a City. Sizemore, executive secretary for 37 years, calls the spirit a key factor in High Point becoming an outstanding industrial city. The book, limited in libraries, compiles statistical data and sketches of influential men and firms, and is described as a compilation of facts rather than a finished history.
