Her body was found Jan 14 hanging from a county store window. coroner and pathologist ruled death due to shock and alcoholism. Moore had been arrested after a Spapanyet arms company sister reported Moore and the woman left the car at the store. a scream was heard before Moore returned to the car.
Ground searchers labor on Mt Timpanogos amid snow and fog to locate two aircraft reported missing since Wednesday night. A civilian craft from Chicago and a B25 bomber from Great Falls carry ten aboard, with rescue planes circling a watch range as crews probe about 11 750 foot summit area and reports of a low flying plane.

Police say Farrell confessed during questioning. his pregnant wife Marilyn later said he confessed during a talk.
Sir Alexander Fleming 73 Scottish scientist who discovered penicillin died of heart disease at his home. Knighted in 1944 his discovery began in 1928 and grew during World War II, saving many lives by fighting infections. He described his luck in the mold contamination that led to penicillin's breakthrough.

ATLANTA A new and definite strike ultimatum was issued in eight month old contract talks with Southern Bell Telephone Co W A Smallwood CIO Communications Workers of America said if arbitration is refused and an agreement cannot be reached by Sunday there will be a strike. Southern Bell opposes an arbitration clause and seeks a no strike provision to protect uninterrupted service. Both sides will negotiate day and night to try to avert a Sunday expiration of the contract.
Senator Byrd concedes some Democratic votes may shift against his opposition to the 20 dollar tax cut plan but maintains he can still win in the Senate. He counts Sens Thurmond and Ervin among supporters of a substitute plan offsetting revenue losses with corporate provisions and limited benefits for taxpayers. The vote showdown is anticipated early next week as floor debate continues.
Chinese Communists fired 52 shells at the Nationalist island of Quemoy in Amoy Bay in a 25 minute barrage beginning at 2 p.m. There were no casualties or damage reported. Premier O K Yul said Nationalists will defend Quemoy and the Matsu group with or without American support.
