Price Increases Slated To End Clothing Hoarding
Washington March 11 government and industry officials foresee price increases for clothing ending hoarding. New orders allow manufacturers to base prices on current costs but require three year-ago markups, likely raising some retail prices while forcing others to cut. Louis Rothschild predicted 700000 suits would reach market, while Leo Goodman criticised the effect as benefiting industry and delaying veterans' access to clothing.
