Somers proposes UNO home on an Atlantic island
Rep Andrew L Somers suggests building UNO headquarters on an autonomous island off the New Jersey coast near Atlantic City. He argues an island city would avoid disruptions, allow direct air and sea links, and could be self contained with its own railroad. He estimates a 10 square mile area would suffice and save millions in initial costs.
