Weatherspoon Gallery Receives Burlington Gift and Grant
The Burlington Industries foundation gave 10000 dollars to the Weatherspoon Art Gallery at UNCG to expand its modern and contemporary American art collection. Chancellor Ferguson noted the gift could help secure a 10000 NEA grant with matching funds, boosting total support to 20000 dollars. This plus past Burlington gifts brings their eight year total above 60000 dollars. The story also notes a small Italian donkey derby project canceled for lacking a second donkey.
