Rebel the dog makes daily visits to Chapel Hill veterinarian
Rebel a 75 pound malamute sleigh dog wounded in a fight with master Air Force Lieut James Vogler now visits Dr L L Vine at Nathan Veterinary Hospital every day for a week. The dog waits on the door, climbs onto the operating table, and allows wounds to be dressed. Vogler, a 31 year old Charlotte veteran, found Rebel on Umnack Island in the Aleutians and flew 250 hours on the A4 heavy bomber during the war.

Engineer Toll Bell to Summon Help in Belfry Fall
John J. Dewan a 50 year old maintenance engineer lay injured in the belfry of a 100 foot church tower after a ladder fall. Unable to shout he tolled the bell to summon aid. The tolling attracted church sexton John Messner who called police and firemen. Dewan was lowered from the belfry with ropes and blankets.

Slayer of Wife and Child is Committed
Charles Francis Holober, 40, charged with murdering his wife and infant daughter, was sent to the State institution for criminally insane at Marion Virginia for observation after a Fairfax county grand jury indicted him on two murder counts. Police said he confessed to the February 24 killings and burying the bodies in a shallow grave near a nudist camp.

Linseed Oil Price Cut Announced by British Ministry
The British Ministry of Food said linseed oil price will drop tomorrow to £170 per ton from £185, with earlier cuts from £200 per ton last summer. World prices remain lower, Uruguayan linseed at £90 per ton, and Argentine prices recently eased but stay above Uruguayan. The ministry buys bulk oil for resale to paint makers and consumers.
