Burglary Charges Lodged In High Point Gun Heist
William N. Lovings Jr and Doug Codey of High Point are charged in Randolph County with breaking into a trailer on U.S. 311 south of Archdale and stealing a pistol, Spitfire rifle, shotguns, and 200 rounds of ammo. The State Bureau of Investigation aids, bonds set at 8000 each, and no weapons recovered. The break-in was reported after a witness saw a strange car and a man inside the trailer.

Delores Hodgens and Samuel Howard, a husband and wife duo, will perform at the Asheboro Senior High School Auditorium Saturday night under the Asheboro Community Concert Association. The duo toured Europe in 1965 and 1966 and toured North America in 1968 69, performing in many U S cities. They began as professionals in Birmingham, studied in London, and later built a Europe touring career. Members of the High Point Community Concert Association may attend through a reciprocal agreement between groups.

Two Car Wreck Injures Driver

Hearing Waived In Theft Case
A preliminary hearing on charges of breaking and entering was waived Friday in District Court by Freddie Beasley of the Old Thomasville Road. He was bound over to Superior Court for the Dec 31 break-in at Geneva Sue Loflin’s home on Hasty School Road. Several other defendants faced drunken driving and related counts with suspended sentences and fines, including Thomas Boughan and Daniel Owen Batten, and others in separate cases. Batten and Rozier appealed certain convictions. Bougham and Pegues faced speeding and shoplifting counts respectively.
