High Point Endorses Seven Member County Election Board
High Point City Council approved a plan to create a seven member Guilford County elections board with three from High Point and two from Greensboro, while keeping local machines intact. The county commissioners endorsed a single county precinct registration system and the Greensboro council had previously rejected the plan. The move aims to extend representation in rural areas and streamline registration across county lines. The action follows weeks of debate and aligns with regionalOfficials, including Councilman L. V. Hunt, who noted increased local participation.
