The state reported the low bid to move Zebulon Vance statue on Capitol grounds was 12 963 85 dollars. Scoggins Memorial Arts Shop of Charlotte submitted the bid, 1200 under the second highest bid. The statue will be moved south toward the justice building and face the Aycock memorial. A new monument to Andrew Jackson Andrew Johnson and James K Polk will be erected on the former site this fall costing 67500 dollars.
