June 22 report details a tax avoidance scheme via life insurance. Mason B. Lem of the Internal Revenue Bureau named Richard B. Dwight of New York as paying 33,448 dollars for a Bahamas policy from Standard Life Insurance. Dwight borrowed 33,448 dollars from the Bahamas company, deducting 141,628 dollars in interest. George Bonnet was recalled to testify on his Washington post.
Gifford, jailed since last Friday, signed a statement admitting he killed his father with a .20 gauge shotgun. He has used aliases and gave a life story that police say raises more questions as investigators seek identity links to a prior murder in Illinois.

Bly C. Leonard, 65, a watchman at the Revolution mill village gate in Greensboro, was instantly killed when struck by a freight car on the mill track near the plant. He attempted to unlock a crossing and was hit as cars rolled down the track, Monday morning at about nine o'clock.
In Lumberton on June 22 Recorder Leslie J. Huntley postponed final judgment to June 30 in the case of Myles Horton a textile workers organizer charged with aiding and abetting in an assault and inciting to riot. A band of seven union members including W R Lamb George Lamb Gilbert Brock Walter Tompkins James Chandler Gracie Pittman and Carl Stone had bonds set at 25. Horton’s bond was 100. The arrests stem from an alleged beating of Henry Willoughby a non union mill employee at a June 16 union meeting, with Horton said to have instigated the attack.
London June 22 Sir John Simon chancellor of the exchequer told the house of commons that Great Britain does not intend to reopen war debt discussions with the United States in connection with pending Anglo American trade agreement proposals. The statement was made in a written answer to a floor question.
LIN June 22 report notes fears of stalled religious peace in Germany as parochial groups face dissolution in Catholic areas and lay brother immorality trials threaten to keep courts busy this year. Goebbels warns that Germans must obey laws as he asserts national governance.
Postmaster General Farley argued in United States district court that the post office department can stop deliveries of mailed food into strike struck steel plants in Ohio. Winfred McPherson, the only prisoner ever to work in North Carolina's parole office, watches Governor Hoey sign his parole. Parole Commissioner Edwin Gill says McPherson is faithful and parole comes for usual reasons. Convicted in Camden County in October 1933 of second degree murder, he has served five years, five months and 26 days of a 20 to 30 year sentence.
Senator Norris an Indiana Nebraska senator and liberal leader in the senate suffered an indigestion attack today. Physician Dr George W Calver said the illness is not serious and he is receiving care at the Capitol.
A witness in the Lindbergh kidnapping trial depicted Paul H. Wendel as the man behind the Bergh abduction during a federal court conspiracy trial involving P. H. Wendel and his son. The testimony referenced a shouted accusation and noted Wendel’s alleged confession delaying Hauptmann’s execution.
