Ice Cream Cone Born at St Louis Fair in 1904
The St. Louis World's Fair birthplace of the ice cream cone is noted by Miss Gaynelle Hogan of North Carolina State. Ernest A. Hamwi of Damascus Syria credited with inventing the cone holder after a pastry ran out of dishes at a stand near an ice cream booth. The cornucopia filled with ice cream sparked the cone. The term cone emerged in 1906 replacing cornucopia.
