Consumer Will Pay Little To Farmers Under New Measure
Washington reports Secretary Wallace and George N. Peek say the farm law aims to cut wheat output by 20 percent and destroy 10 million acres of cotton with a four cent per pound processing tax on raw cotton items. The tax is added to farm proceeds but should be absorbed before the finished product reaches consumers.
