United Repeal Council Forms NC Campaign On Prohibition
A volunteer coalition including the United Repeal Council, the Southern Hotel Association and the Women’s Organization for National Prohibition Reform met in North Carolina to plan a nonpartisan drive for repealing the Eighteenth Amendment. The group urged state self rule on liquor after repeal, highlighted support from GOP figures like Morehead and Bramham, and cited labor and political leaders backing repeal while promising to promote temperance and eradication of evils of intemperance. The session honored Senator Reynolds and included about 40 attendees from Wilmington to Asheville.
