Calgary man builds Alberta's first amateur TV set
William K. Allan of Calgary a Western Canada High School electricity teacher built Alberta's first amateur television transmitter and receiver. He adapted a 16 mm movie projector into a TV camera and notes retransmitting gear was the harder part. Bedsteads with cracks and crevices can harbor vermin if not cleaned regularly to remove dust and fluff.
