Students Learn Sheep Shearing at North Carolina Schools
About 175 farmers attended three sheep shearing schools in Watauga Ashe and Alleghany counties led by L I Case of State College. The program emphasized 4 H Club members who could shear for others with few adults participating. A Mountain Experiment Station contest tested the top 12 4 H boys with two sheep in preliminaries and three in finals.

Over six months Payne kept 450 hens laying 97 eggs on average with feed cost 1305.81 dollars. In Paris the Parisian School for Mannequins held a competition to select new models for dress houses. Of 250 applicants only 30 reached final tests. five were deemed worthy.
