Nuclear plant hearings delayed near Raleigh
NRC hearings for Carolina Power and Light Co's planned nuclear fueled plant near Raleigh will not occur until late this year. New Insight Into Misery

The appeals cover a Peru gold search, a fish-shaped submarine to lure the Loch Ness monster, and odd requests from Malta to send cash for a wig and piano. A Ritz porter asks for a cigar, and an Italian seeks a provocation to reunite with his girlfriend.

Principal Dons Crash Helmet Proves School Spirit
Philadelphia principal Dr. Oliver W. Lancaster of Gratz High School will race a hacked Mustang named School Spirit at a quarter mile dragstrip. The project started two years ago to boost morale in the industrial arts shops and is built by Gratz students with donated parts. Lancaster will make the first run, then fellow staffer Wilfred Jones drives, as he heads to a New York superintendent post in July.
