Blue Ponders Whether To Call Runoff
Raleigh AP Clifton Blue and Robert W. Scott moved toward a possible runoff for the Democratic lieutenant governor nomination after Scott led a three man field but failed to secure a majority in the first primary. Scott shifted campaign HQ to a Raleigh motel and planned statewide travel for ads and rallies while Blue weighed returns before deciding. Both men visited State Sen John Jordan, who finished third. Jordan did not commit to backing either candidate.
