Fort Bragg Camp to Award Many Athletic Prizes
The Citizens Military Training Camp at Fort Bragg will award many cups and prizes in swimming field and track events and tennis. The highlight is a Babe Ruth autographed ball and bat for the outstanding ball player. Tennis will gain three hard clay courts and tournaments both singles and doubles. A quarter mile track and a qualified track coach will prepare contenders for the big meet on July 11. McFayden's pond improvements aid swimming instruction and Red Cross life saving instructors plan a large aquatic meet. A football coach from a top southern university will coach for fall prep, aiding local high school teams. The camp runs June 15 to July 14 and is open at no cost to eligible North or South Carolina youths 17 or older with acceptable character. transportation, food, and uniforms are provided by the government.
