Alexander Seeks Governor Bid in GOP Primary Lure
RALEIGH AP Jacob F Alexander profiles his bid in the Republican gubernatorial primary. A seasoned Salisbury businessman with long service in state government he touts stability and party loyalty. He recalls clashes with Holshouser over firing a highway patrol commander and details his shift from Democrat to Republican years before. He argues rival Coy Privette lacks his precinct engagement and party fidelity while noting his own family deep roots in North Carolina civic life.
