Allied Leaders Arrest G Nelson Page For Questioning

G Nelson Page former chief of the radio division of the Fascist ministry of popular culture has been arrested by Allied authorities. A Virginia birthright holder who became Italian, he directed English propaganda broadcasts including Sally and George for American troops in Italy. Other broadcasters facing arrest are Princes Tasca di Cato and San Faustino, all Italian nationals, while Ezra Pound remains at large on treason charges.

Radio Phones Speed Freight on Santa Fe

Santa Fe locomotive 3420 and its freight crew hauled San Joaquin Valley potatoes from California to Chicago as the first trans continental train equipped with radio phones between engine cab and caboose. Chicago engineers Patrick Sullivan James E O Neil fireman Homer Nelson and Chillicothe officers Eugene Henninger and John Buck received credit for the test proving radio signals carry through curves tunnels and adverse weather. A brakeman’s signaled hot box in transit prompted radio warning and swift inspection, cutting delay from 20 minutes to near zero.
