Weather bureau forecasts rising chances of showers and thundershowers as moist air across North Carolina becomes more unstable. Temperatures are expected to fall slightly, easing lingering muggy conditions.
Forecasts show North Carolina expected to stay warm and humid with scattered thunderstorms tonight and Thursday. South Carolina faces isolated thundershowers with highs in the 90s, while Virginia and Georgia also anticipate storms and continued warmth. The High Point area predicts lingering heat and scattered rain through Thursday with 20 to 50 percent precipitation chances. Extended outlook calls for weekend showers, warmer conditions Friday, then a cooler weekend mix.
