Randolph County Board of Education considers lunch price rise
Randolph County School Superintendent John Lawrence presented three options to raise funds for cafeteria staff salaries. Proposals include keeping current 30 to 35 cent lunch prices or raising all grades to 35 cents, or 35 cents for grades 1–9 and 40 cents for grades 10–12. Lawrence favors a universal 35 cent lunch price with the new salary schedule, noting higher costs from labor and food and the impact on high schools if prices rise only for younger students. The board planned to decide at today’s meeting.
