Recorders Court Hefty Fines After Affray In Office
In Recorder’s Court Judge Dalton swiftly disposed of three cases with guilty verdicts. Frank Armfield and B Ro Booker faced an affray charge after a message exchange in Armfield’s office near the High Point Savings and Trust. Armfield struck Booker after an argument, a scuffle ensued, and Officer Woed halted the clash. Booker's bond was posted under the alias E C Brooks and he left town. Armfield received a five dollar fine and a monetary penalty. Dock Dunlap faced additional jail time after an earlier dispute. Ed L. Ragan testified as cashier and supported both sides. Knight pleaded guilty to drunkenness and paid costs, his first court appearance.
