Johnson hits three homers as Yankees rout Blue Jays
Cliff Johnson slugged three homers including a record-tying two in one inning to lead the New York Yankees past the Toronto Blue Jays 11-5. He joined Joe Pepitone as the only Yankees to homer twice in one inning, with Lou Piniella and Thurman Munson also contributing. Catfish Hunter worked seven strong innings, and Johnson eyed more chances as DH against Detroit this weekend. Garland pitched five strong for Cleveland in a 4-2 win over Baltimore before rain shortened the game.
