Rate Increases Hit State Institutions In North Carolina
Electric rate hikes drive higher bills at state facilities including Cherry Hospital Morganton and UNC campuses. Officials say increases are approved by regulators and funded from state appropriations, with total Raleigh area state offices totaling 735,850 for the year. Hospitals and universities face rising costs, though major funding remains available, some officials warn of tighter budgets if prices continue to climb.
