Fire vehicle traffic rule clarified by NC law

A motorist from out of state failed to yield to a warning device from a volunteer fire truck responding to a fire on an interstate. The fire chief may direct traffic at the scene but isn’t a general law enforcement officer beyond the fire scene. Three points can be assessed for the violation. Spectacular rocket display seen after Eglin launch

The red ball and white ring observed in the sky were from a research rocket launched at Eglin Air Force Base. Vaporized barium in the upper atmosphere reflected sunlight and was visible in several southern states. Five more launches were scheduled to study the atmosphere.

Senate Democratic Leader Mike Mansfield says Nixon administration broadens the war into Laos and Cambodia which may hinder troop withdrawals. Apollo 14 countdown continues toward crucial moon mission

Washington AP The Nixon administration tightens special revenue sharing to maintain federal oversight of local spending. Proposals aim for broad purposes urban and rural development education manpower training law enforcement and transportation with strings to prevent misuse while replacing many grant in aid programs. Truman Sleeps Through Blaze at Kansas City Hospital
