ECU President Leo Jenkins said the report will not be opened before presentation to Governor Bob Scott Thursday. Guilford Technical Institute and the Employment Security Commissioner plan to train 80 or more unemployed individuals in cabinet making under the Manpower Development Training Act. Dr. Lubher Medlin and William Hollar announced classes begin February 8 with about 960 hours of instruction at GTI. Eligible participants must be 17 or older, out of school a year, unemployed or disadvantaged, and have completed seventh grade. Participants receive training and transportation allowances. This is the sixth Manpower Training Act program funded in Guilford County this year, joining programs for general office clerk, stenographer, welder, upholsterer, and sheet metal worker.
