Senate creates $50,000 small business committee
The senate votes 46 to 42 to form a new special small business committee chaired by Senator Wherry with an eight month budget of $50,000. Senator Tobey protests the move as usurping banking committee oversight and a bid to install a Maine Republican as chairman. Brewster chairs the war investigating panel, recreated after a prior clash.
