Teens launch homebuilt rocket in Maryland
Two Maryland teens Louis Bresee and Bill Fox both 17 at Towson High School claim the first successful local firing of a do it yourself missile. The rocket stood 48 inches long with a 2 inch diameter and reached 600 to 700 feet before landing nearby. A Monkton farmer Owen Lee witnessed the launch noting the long whoosh and smoke. The venture mirrors a prior Connecticut group whose attempt failed publicly on Wallingford’s coast.
