23 Carloads Of Food For State School Lunches
Raleigh January 20 1948 23 carloads of food from the U S department of agriculture are slated for the state school lunch program in January. Shipments include 12800 cases of canned tomatoes 300000 pounds of Cheddar cheese and 9338 cases of concentrated orange juice. The program also received 249 carloads in the second half of 1947.

Youth Facing Deportation For 3rd Time
A persistent 80-pound 15 year old French youth Marcel Lafarge and 16 year old Jacques Buisson were reported for a third time after stowing away on the George Handley. Lafarge said his father joined the French army in 1940 and his mother was killed in 1944. He claimed he adopted American army units and previously entered the U S at New York, with a prior deportation in Philadelphia last November. He vowed he would return to the United States if sent back.
