Remembering Dr McAnally A High Point Doctor of the Old School
In spring 1902 I met Dr William McAnally whose zeal and skill impressed me. He owned the first X ray machine in High Point and was among the first to link pellagra to diet. He served as Medical Health Officer, school board member, and Guilford County Medical Society president. He educated his children, sent seven to college, three sons becoming doctors, and supported farming reform. He lived simply, preached through example, and cared deeply for community welfare. Jan. 12.
