TVA Boosts Power Rates By Three Percent Nationwide
Knoxville reports TVA will raise basic home power bills by about 70 cents per 1 000 kWh raising the first 1 000 kWh to roughly 21 to 25 dollars in February depending on local rates. The monthly fuel adjustment increases 0.7 cents per kWh to 5.85 dollars per 1 000 kWh, ending four months of declines as higher fuel and purchased power costs drive the rise. Lee Sheppeard notes 4.25 dollars covers TVA fuel and 1.60 dollars covers power bought from other systems.
