Spotlight Encircles Super Bowl VI
Two new breed quarterbacks Bob Griese of the Dolphins and Roger Staubach of the Cowboys lead the spotlight in Super Bowl VI as CBS airs the game from New Orleans. Griese is a pocket passer while Staubach mixes passing with scrambles, and both face teams with long postseaso n pressures and recent Super Bowl memories. The Dolphins seek to erase a Super Bowl III loss, while the Cowboys aim to shed a cant-win-the-big-ones stigma, with lasting implications for Don Shula and Tom Landry. The game could hinge on Staubach’s late-season surge and Miami’s rugged defense in a matchup shaping NFL history.
