Airports Ready For Jumbo Jets
The jumbo jetliners begin commercial service this month with Pan Am and TWA launching 747 routes from New York to London and New York to Los Angeles. By year end 40 of the 355 ton planes are expected in the air. by 1971 about 186 airlines total. Major airports including Kennedy, LAX, O Hare, Logan, Dulles, Miami, Atlanta, plus London and Paris are expanding to handle the new aircraft.
