Union Planters National Bank and Trust Company of Tennessee filed in Guilford Superior Court asking that a $3,000 deposit at the defunct Commercial National Bank of High Point be designated a preferred claim. The Tennessee bank reported a $5,631.84 deposit with the High Point bank on January 4, 1932, with a $3,000 check drawn against it. payment was refused January 7, 1932 due to restricted deposits.
