Mrs. Carl Collins was honored at a Thursday evening bridal shower hosted by her aunt Mrs. C. A. Handy at 2203 Eastchester Dr. Hostesses gave prizes for games and presented gifts to the bride, who will wed Dec. 22 and plans to live in Eastover Apartments with groom Mr. Collins.
A dense calendar lists 9th Grade Y Teens events at 9 am and 4:15 pm, art classes at 9 and 7 pm, bridge and dance clubs, YWCA Mary Bethune committee at 4 pm, and multiple Plunge sessions. It includes Adams Club, B and P Club, Furniture City and Parkway Duplicate Bridge, and a 6:30 pm annual dinner with various lunch and fellowship slots.
The Garden Club rescheduled its meeting to Tuesday at 2 30 p.m. Mrs David Dowdy will host at her Emerywood Estates home.
Whispering Pines Garden Club will meet Thursday at 7 30 p m. Mrs J Robert Carter will host at the Carter home 232 Idol Street.
The High Point Cosmetologist Assn will hold a 7 p.m. dinner at the Sheraton Hotel. Mrs. Hazel Yodzio will conduct the installation of officers for the new year.
High Point Medical Auxiliary will meet Wednesday at 11 a.m. for a program presented by Claude Best of Heritage Furniture Co. The event is planned at the Glenn G. Perry home at 702 Sunset Dr.
Mrs. John R. Taylor of Greensboro, national YWCA board member, will speak at the Adams Memorial YWCA annual dinner. The 6 30 p m event in the all purpose room invites members and the public, with reservations via the YWCA office by noon Wednesday. Her talk is titled The YWCA in a Changing Era.
