UNC researchers from Weiss Burley Kaiser and Donnelly study shoreline landowner decisions at five North Carolina multipurpose reservoirs. They link rapid vacation home growth to environmental deterioration and water quality concerns, noting over 60,000 homes on 105 reservoirs and two thirds located on 15 sites.
